Ludwik Gorczyca, PhD candidate in the Rutgers Toxicology graduate program, interned at the department of Permeability and Transporters at the Novarits site in East Hanover. The main focus of the internship was to improve cellular models for permeability and transport assays used to test new drug candidates. During his stay, Ludwik was able to hone his in vitro skills by learning about the minute details of transport assays and the use of radiolabeled isotopes as well as network with scientists to gain a better idea of how a pharmaceutical company operates.
