The Air Pollution Educational and Research Grant (APERG) Scholarship provided by the Mid-Atlantic States Section of the Air and Waste Management Association is a competitive program that grants pre- and postdoctoral students funds to aid research related to air pollution. 4th year Ph.D. student Jessica Rodriguez (D. Laskin laboratory) was one of two predoctoral recipients this year. Her research builds on the current understanding of the mechanisms of ozone-induced pulmonary injury, focusing on the integrated stress response as a potential key pathway. The funds provided by the Reuben and Alice Wasser A.P.C. Educational and Research Charitable Remainder Unitrust will help Jessica further her research and professional development as a young toxicologist.
