Dr. Candace Longoria, a JGPT postdoc working under the mentorship of Dr. Debra Laskin, was selected for the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (Innovation Programs are dedicated to supporting innovative initiatives that advance the careers of minoritized scientists. These programs include fellowships, experiential learning opportunities, and professional development grants for graduate students, postdoctoral scientists, and junior faculty. The American Society for Microbiology has organized and managed the NIH-funded ABRCMS conference since its inception in 2001. The Academy aims to invest in the next generation of diverse Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics leaders by equipping participants with the leadership skills necessary to excel in their careers and drive change at the highest levels.
