During the summer, Chelsea Cary (Stapleton lab) participated in a 12-week internship at Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine. She gained first-hand experience and exposure to pharmaceutical research and development. It was a major privilege for her to work as a Discovery Oncology Scientist intern in the Prostate Cancer and Immunotherapy Stronghold. As a senior graduate student, entering a completely new laboratory environment was an exciting and humbling experience that challenged her as a scientist. The structure of The J&J Oncology R&D Summer Internship Global Program allowed her to work on a team, participate in patient-driven research, and enhance Chelsea’s understanding of end-to-end drug development.
