Laura Armstrong, PhD received the Presidential Poster of Distinction Award from the 2017 American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. This distinction is bestowed upon the top 10% of research posters. At the Liver Meeting in Washington, DC, Laura presented her latest research investigating the ability of acute-phase proteins to protect the livers from mice against the development of steatohepatitis. Using various transgenic approachs in mice, Laura showed important roles of the lipocalin 13 protein in this hepatoprotection.
