The bi-annual RATS craft exchange is a new tradition that began in January 2020, just before the COVID pandemic hit. The second craft exchange was held in July 2020, outdoors with masks and social distancing. The most recent event was held on February 5th over Zoom, with everyone dropping off and picking up their gifts at the Laskin Lab in the days running up to the virtual meet.

The craft exchange, organized primarily by PhD student Jackie Andres, works like a Secret Santa gift exchange. Anyone is welcome to join and any craft is welcome! This time the exchange included 4 faculty and staff members, in addition to both Toxicology and Exposure Science graduate students and postdocs.

Making art is a great way to let off steam and to keep your science skills sharp. If you’re interested in joining the next craft exchange, get in touch with Jackie and she will add you to the growing list.
