Alyssa Juenke, a third-year PhD student in the Joint Graduate Program in Toxicology at Rutgers, was selected as one of fifteen scholars to attend the fully-funded Brown University Environmental Health Scholars Retreat, a two-and-a-half-day program designed to bring together trainees, faculty, and environmental health professionals across institutions and fields. During the program, Alyssa attended a workshop on report-back hosted by the Silent Spring Institute as well as various guest lectures from environmental health leaders. Trainees presented their own research and were provided with feedback to help improve their projects. Alyssa contributed her toxicology expertise while building valuable connections with environmental scientists and trainees from across the region.
